A Special Joint Meeting of the Santa Monica city council and city
Boards and Commissions was called to order by Mayor Conn in the
East Wing of the Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main street, Santa
Monica, California, on Thursday, January 21, 1988, at 7:51 P.M.
(having been preceded by an informal gathering at 6:30 P.M.).

Mayor Conn welcomed the membership on behalf of the Council to
the Joint Meeting. The following representatives of the Boards
and commissions reported on past year activities and coming year
priorities: Rachel Bonzon, Airport Commission; John Kaufman,
Architectural Review Board; Paul Leaf, Arts Commission; Barbara
Coffman, Building and Safety Commission; Florence Cardine,
commission on Older Americans; Irene Zivi, Commission on the

status of Women; Paul Rosenstein, Electrical Board of Appeals;
William Putnam, Accessibility Appeals Board; Ken Schonlau,
Housing commission; David Cameron, Landmarks Commission; Mary Lou

Hecht, Planning Commission; Satoshi Nitti, Plumbing and
Mechanical Board of Appeals; Chuck Ice, Recreation and Parks
