PARKING AUTHORITY MINUTES
COUNCIL CHAMBER, CITY HALL, SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
Special Meeting
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 1978
The Parking Authority of the City of Santa Monica met in Spec1al Session at
the above-named time and place.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Seymour A. Cohen, John J. Bambrick, Christine E. Reed,
Perry Scott, Nathaniel Trives, Pieter van den Steenhoven
MEMBERS ABSENT: Donna O. Swink
ALSO PRESENT: David P. Dolter, Acting City Manager
Richard L. Knickerbocker, City Attorney
Stanley E. Scholl, Director of General Services
James J. Wrenn, Parking & Traffic Engineer
ITEM 1 - APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING DATED JULY 11, 1978, SPECIAL
MEETING DATED JULY 25, 1978, SPECIAL MEETING DATED AUGUST 8, 1978,
SPECIAL MEETING DATED AUGUST 22, 1978, AND REGULAR MEETING DATED
OCTOBER 10, 1978
On motion by Mrs. Reed, seconded by Mr. van den Steenhoven, the Minutes of
the past five meetings were approved unanimously.
ITEM 2 - PROPOSED P~RKING RATES FOR LOTS 2, 2A, 9, 9A, 98, AND lOA AND
PARKING PERMIT PROCEDURE
Mr. Wrenn presented the proposal for parking meter rates for Lots 2, 2A, 9,
9A, 98, and IDA and parking permit procedure. Mr. van den Steenhoven moved
to adopt the staff's recommendation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Trives
and passed with the following vote:
AYES: MEMBERS: Bambrick, Reed, Scott, Trives, van den Steenhoven, Cohen
NOES: MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: MEMBERS: Swink
Mrs. Reed moved to adopt the Resolution implementing staff's recommendations
and waive further reading. Mr. Bambrick seconded the motion and it passed
with the following vote:
AYES: MEMBERS: Bambrick, Reed, Scott, Trives, van den Steenhoven, Cohen
NOES: MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: MEMBERS: Swink
There being no further business before the Parking Authority, on motion by
Mrs. Reed, seconded by Mr. van den Steenhoven and carried unanimously, the
meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
