A Special Meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to
order at 6:05 P.M., Tuesday, January 3, 1984; in the Council
Chambers.
Roll Call: Present: Mayor Ken Edwards
Mayor Pro Tempore Dolores M. Press
Councilmember James P. Conn
Councilmember David G. Epstein
Councilmember William H. Jennings
(arrived 6:10 P.M.)
Councilmember Christine E. Reed
(arrived 6:20 P.M.)
Councilmember Dennis Zane
City Manager John Alschuler: Jr.
City Attorney Robert M. Myers
City Clerk Ann M. Shore
CLOSED SESSION: At 6:06 P.M., Ma~or Pro Tem~ore Press moved to
adjourn ~o Closed Session to discuss pending Zitigation. Second by
Councilmember Zane. The motion was approved by unanimous vote
(Councilmembers Jennings and Reed absent). At 7:25 P.M. Council
reconvened with all members present. At 7:26 P.M., there being no
objections, Mayor Edwards announced adjournment to Closed Session
for the purpase of discussing personnel matters. the Closed Session
to be held at Shanta Indian RestaurantF 502 Santa Monica Boulevard~
Santa Monica, California. (Councilmember Reed departed the meeting
at 7:26 P.M.) At 10:04 P.M. Council reconvened with the following
members prese~t: Councilmembers Epstein, 3ennings, Zane and Mayor
Edwards. No action having been taken in Closed Session.
Councilmember Zane moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:05 P.M.
Second by Mayor Edwards. The motion was approved by the following
vote:
Council Vote: Unanimously approved 4-0
Absent: Councilmembers Conn, Press and Reed
