A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
MODIFYING PLANNING, ZONING AND LAND USE FEES
WHEREAS, the City has established comprehensive regulations
concerning a range of antenna types; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that amateur radio operators
provide an important public service by participating in local, regional
and statewide emergency and disaster preparedness programs, in
facilitating international disaster relief programs, and in fostering
international goodwill and understanding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the federal government
requires that regulations and design standards for non-commercial TVRO
parabolic antennas do not impose costs on the users of television
receiving only parabolic antennas that are excessive in light of the
purchase in installation costs of such equipment; and
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 9.04.20.20.050 authorizes the
setting of planning, zoning, and land use fees by resolution of the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Resolution Number 7607
(CCS) , Resolution Number 8082 (CCS) , Resolution 8384 (CCS) , Resolution
8683 (CCS) and Resolution 8770 (CCS) setting planning, zoning, and land
use fees; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend these fees with respect to
amateur radio antennas and TVRO parabolic antennas in order to comply
with federal regulations for TVRO parabolic antennas.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Use Permit application fee for a noncommercial
non-parabolic antenna and for a TVRO parabolic antenna shall be $25.00
(Twenty-Five Dollars) .
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and thenceforth the same shall be in full force and effect.

MODIFICA TION TO THE
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
CITY OF SA NT A MONICA, CALIFORNIA
AND
PUBLIC ATTORNEYS UNION
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Monica and
the Public Attorneys Union has been in effect since July 1, 1993 and
WHEREAS, Section 1.03 (Term of Agreement) and Section 2.02 (Salaries) of said
Memorandum of Understanding provided for the reopening of the Memorandum of
Understanding with regard to a modification of salaries as of July 1, 1994;
NOW, THEREFORE, both parties to the Memorandum of Understanding between the
City of Santa Monica and the Public Attorneys Union agree to modify the existing
Memorandum of Understanding to reflect a cost of living adjustment for FY94-95 by adding
the following language to the end of Subsection B of Section 2.02:
Effective July 1, 1 994, the salary steps of the salary ranges established
for the job classifications covered by this Agreement which were in effect as of
June 30, 1994 shall be increased by three percent (3%). As of July 1, 1994,
the salary ranges in effect for employees covered herein are as follows:

Except as expressly modified herein, all other terms and conditions set forth in the
Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Monica and the Public Attorneys
Union shall remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Modification to the
Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Monica and the Public Attorneys
Union as of July 1, 1994.
