A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AND EXECUTE A HOUSEHOLD
HAZARDOUS WASTE GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA
INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD
WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monlca recognizes that it 2S ln
the pub12c 2nterest to enact and implement an lntegrated waste
management plan to address the state's d2mlnishing landf2l1 space
and the potentlal adverse envlronmental 2mpacts from landf2112ng;
and
WHEREAS, funds have been establlshed by Assembly B1II 2448
(East2n, 1987), and are ava~lable from the Sol2d Waste D2sposal
S2te Cleanup and Maintenance Account 2n the General Fund through
the Cal2fornla Integrated Waste Management Board for grants to
local goverTh~ents to establlsh and implement waste dlverslon and
separat~on programs to prevent d2sposal of hazardous waste,
2ncludlng household hazardous waste 2n sol2d waste landf21ls,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Clty Councll of the Clty of Santa Monlca authorlzes
the subm~ttal of an applicat20n to the Callforn2a Integrated
Waste Management Board for a Household Hazardous Waste grant.
The C2ty Manager of the City of Santa Monlca is hereby authorized

and empowered to execute ~n the name of the City of Santa Mon2ca
all necessary appllcatlons, contracts, and agreements and
amendments hereto for the purposes of securlng grant funds and to
2mplement and carry out the purposes spec2fled ln thlS
appl~cat2on.
2. The C2ty Clerk Shall Cert2fy to the adopt2on of th2S
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be 2n
full force and effect.
