A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER 8650 AND
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT
PER PARCEL DISCRETIONARY GRANT PROGRAM FOR LINCOLN PARK
WHEREAS, the people of the County of Los Angeles on November 3,
1992, enacted Los Angeles County Proposition A, Safe Neighborhood
Parks, Gang Prevention, Tree Planting, Senior and Youth Recreation,
Beaches and Wlldllfe Protectlon (the Proposition), which provides
funds to the County of Los Angeles and other public agencles ln
the County for the purposes of acquiring and/or developlng
facilities for public recreational facilities and open space; and
WHEREAS, the Proposition also created the County of Los
Angeles Regional Park and Open Space Dlstrlct (the District) to
administer said fundsj and
WHEREAS, the Distrlct has set forth the necessary procedures
governlng local agency applications for grant funds under the
Proposltlon, and
WHEREAS, the Dlstrlct' s procedures require the Appl icant to
certlfy, by resolution, the approval of the appllcation before
submlsslon of sald application to the Districtj and
WHEREAS, the proj ect is an lmportant park and recreatlon
project for the City of Santa MOnlCaj and
WHEREAS, said application contalns assurances that the
Applicant mus~ comply wlthj and

WHEREAS, the Appl~cant w~ll enter into an Agreement with the
D~strict for acquisition or development of the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Approves the f~l~ng of an appl~cat~on w~th the
County of Los Angeles Reg~onal Park and Open Space D~str~ct for
funds under Section 8.b.l of the Proposition for the above Project.
SECTION 2.
Certifies that said Applicant understands the
assurances and certification in the applicatlon form.
SECTION 3.
Certifies that said Applicant has, or will have,
sufficient funds to operate and malntaln the Project in perpetuity.
SECTION 4. Appoints the City Manager as agent of City of Santa
Monlca to conduct all negot~at~ons, and to execute and submit all
documents lncludlng, but not l~m~ted to, applications, agreements,
amendments, payment requests and so forth, which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned ProJect.
SECTION 5. Resolution Number 8650 (CCS) ~s repealed
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt~on of
th~s Resolut~on and thenceforth and thereafter It shall be In full
force and effect.
