A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
RECOMMF.l\'DING THAT TIlE CITY COUNCIL DIRECT
THE PLAl'.1\1XG COMMISSION TO MIEND
THE LAl\1> USE A.l\'D CIRCULATION ELEMENT
OF THE CITY OF SAl"I'TA MONICA GENERAL PLAN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 Pursuant to the Santa Momca MumcIpal Code, the Clty Councll does
hereby gIve notIce of Its IntentIon to dlrect the Planmng CommissIOn to amend the Land Use and
CIrculatIon Element of the CIty of Santa MOnIca General Plan as set forth In ExhIbIt A.
SECTION 2. That the CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIon of thIS ResolutIon and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be m full force and effect.

Pnor to Implementanon of the MId-CIty Area Traffic Plan, the City of Santa MOnica's Land Use
and CIrculanon Element (LUCE) of the General Plan shall be modIfied to reflect phYSICal
changes to the street system assocIated WIth project ImplementatIOn and current condmons of
major cIrculatIOn proposals. The LUCE shall be modIfied In the follOWIng manner.
o Amend Figure 22 (Page 118) of the LUCE relatmg to major cIrculanon proposals
and neIghborhood traffic plans m the manner as shown attached
o Amend the first bullet of Major Proposal dIscussIon of Local Streets (Page
119) to read as follows
"Implement neIghborhood traffic control plans to dIscourage through
traffic In resIdennal neIghborhoods m the MId-Clty, PICO, and Sunset Park
areas as shown m FIgure 22. "
o Amend PolIcy 4 2 2 of the LUCE (Page 134) to Incorporate the adopnon of the
MId-CIty Area Traffic Plan PolIcy 4 2 2 WIll read as follows
"Through vehIcular traffic shall be reduced and dIverted from reSIdentIal
neIghborhoods by Implementanon of neIghborhood traffic control plans.
Adopted neIghborhood traffic control plans mclude the MId-CIty Area
Traffic Plan as shown In FIgure 27 "
o Incorporate FIgure 3-4. as shown attached, of the MId-CIty Traffic Plan
