A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR OCTOBER
26, 1993 AND DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE
VACATION OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN STREET KNOWN AS
A PORTION OF SEVENTH COURT FROM BROADWAY TO
APPROXIMATELY 250 FEET SOUTH OF BROADWAY IN THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The Clty Council of the Clty of Santa
Monica hereby declares lts lntention to order the vacation of all
of the portion of Seventh Court from Broadway to approximately
250 feet south of Broadway descrlbed as follows: A rectangular
strip of land, 20 feet in wldth, known as Seventh court, and
shown as the alley between sixth Street and Seventh street,
extending from Broadway to 250 feet southeasterly of Broadway on
the Map of the Town of Santa Monica, in the City of Santa Monica,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, recorded in Book 3,
pages 80 and 81,
and Book 39, Pages 45,
et.
seq. ,
of
Mlscellaneous Records, said strip being bounded to the northeast
by Lots A,B,C,D, and E, of Block 192, of sald map.
SECTION
2.
The
property
owner,
asslgnees,
or
successors of any klnd whatsoever, in consideratlon of the
aforementioned vacation, shall dedicate to the Clty of Santa

Monica a public utility easement over that entire strip of land
to be vacated.
In addition, the property owner, assignees, or successors of any
kind whatsoever, shall dedicate in perpetuity to the City of
Santa Monica, an easement for purposes of street right-of-way
from Seventh Street to Seventh Court described as follows: that
strip of land, 20 feet in wldth, In Block 192 of said map
described above, and bounded to the northwest by a Ilne parallel
and 8 feet southeasterly to the northwesterly the line of Lot R
of said block, said line belng 150 feet in length; and also that
triangular portion of land defined by a point of beginning being
the easternmost corner of said strip of land defined above,
thence proceeding 20 feet southeasterly along the southeasterly
prolongation of the northeasterly line of said strip to the True
Point of Beginning, thence proceeding northwesterly 20 feet along
said southeasterly prolongation, thence proceeding southwesterly
20 feet along the southeasterly line of said strip, then
proceeding in a straight line to the True Point of Beginning.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the city of Santa
Monlca, in vacating the above-mentioned portlon of Seventh Court
elects to proceed under and 1n accordance wlth the provislons of
the Public streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law,
streets and Highways Code Section 8300 et seq.
SECTION 4. The hour of 6: 30 p. m. of the October 26,
1993 1n the City Council Chambers in City Hall, 1685 Main Street,
Santa Monica, California, be and the same hereby is fixed as the

time and place when and where all persons interested in or
obJecting to the proposed vacation may appear before the City
Council and offer evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 5.
The Superlntendent of Streets of the city
of Santa Monlca hereby is directed to cause Notices of street
Vacation to be posted as required by streets and Highways Code
section 8323.
SECTION 6.
The city Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
