A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION
ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAM UNDER THE INTERNODAL SURFACE
TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991
FOR THE LOW-FLOW STORM WATER TREATMENT FACILITY
WHEREAS, the united states Congress has enacted the
Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, which
is to make available over $200 milllon in federal dollars over a
6-year period as funds to the California Department of
Transportation for transportatlon enhancement activities; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has
established the procedures and criteria for reviewing proposals
and, along with the Regional Transportation Agencies, will submit
to the Callfornla Transportation Commission a llst of recommended
proJects from which the reclpients will be selected; and
WHEREAS, said procedures and cr1terla established by the
California Department of Transportatlon call for the approval of
an applicatlon by the applicant's governing body before
submission of sald application to the California Transportation
commission: and
WHEREAS, the applicatlon contains assurances that the
applicant must comply with: and
WHEREAS, the appllcant, lf selected, will enter into an
aqreement with the state of Californla to carry out the
transportation enhancement activitles project;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY or SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1 .
The Clty Councll approves the filing of an
appllcation for the Low-Flow Storm Water Treatment Facllity.
under
the Transportation Enhancement Activltles Program for
consideration for fundlng.
SECTION 2_
The City wlll provl.de $342,100 :Ln non-Federal
funds for thlS project.
SECTION 3 .
The city will make adequate provisions for
operation and malntenance of the project.
SECTION 4. The City Manager of the city of Santa Monica is
authorized to
act
as
the Clty's agent to
conduct
all
negotiatlons, execute and submit all documents, lncludlng but not
limlted to the application, agreements, amendments, payment
requests and so onJ which may be necessary for the completion of
the aforementloned project.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon of
thlS resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
