A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
IN SUPPORT OF THE CALPAW 94 PARK AND WILDLIFE
GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ACT INITIATIVE
WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservat~on League is proposing
a $2 blllion park and w11dl1fe general obllgation bond act to be
placed on the state ballot by initiat1ve 1n June of 1994j and
WHEREAS, a dlrect grant of $2 mllllon to the City of Santa
Monica for the restoratlon and rehabilltatlon of Santa Monlca
beaches and related facilitles 1S speclfled 1n the proposed
lnlt1atlvei and
w~EREAS, a Competitive program wlll also be a part of the
proposed bond act that would provide the city w1th add1tional
opportunlties for lmproving Santa Monlca's parks and recreatlonal
and cultural facllltlesi and
WHEREAS, th1S initiatlve wlll need broad-based local and
statewlde support to ensure 1ts passage by voters,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Councll supports thlS lnitiatlve and
encourages 1ts passage ln order to promote the rehab11itation and
enhancement of the state's and th1S comcunity's most valuable
natural resources.

SECTION 2. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.

to InItiate proceedIngs under the
Improvement Act of 1911 and Gov-
ernment Code for the Tree Plantmg
and appurtenant work on Colorado
Avenue between 7th Street and 14th
Street and,
WHEREAS, SectIon 19 of Arbde
XVI of the CahfornIa ConsbtutJon
prOVIdes that certaIn specIfied debt
hmltatlOn and ma]onty protest pro-
vIsions shall not apply If, after tbe
gIvmg of such reasonable notice by
publIcatIOn and postIng and the

MOnIca shall have prescribed, the
