RESOLUTION NUMBER 8612(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FOR A SERIOUS
HABITUAL OFFENDER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Monica des1res to undertake a
certaIn proJect designated the Santa Monica Serious Hab1tual
Offender (SHO) Program, to be funded in part from funds made
available through the Serious Habitual Offender Program
adm1nlstered by the Office of Crlm1nal Justice Plannlng
(hereafter referred to as OCJP).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the C1ty Manager of the
CIty of Santa Monica 1S authorized to negotiate and execute the
Grant Award Agreement includ1ng any extensions or amendments
thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to prov1de
all matching funds required for saId project (including any
amendment thereof) under the Program and the fundIng terms and
condltlons of OCJP and that the cash match will be appropriated
as required.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any liabi11ty arising out of the
performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court
actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant
recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California
and OCJP disclaim responsibilIty for any such 11abil1ty.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this
body.
