A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
EXTENDING THE TIME PERIOD FOR EXERCISING A
CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS PERMITTING
EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS OF THE
BIT,T.1:ARD BUILDING AT 250 SANTA MONICA PIER
WHEREAS, a Certificate of Appropr~ateness application was
filed requesting exterior modifications to the Billiard Building on
the Santa Mon~ca pier on September 14, 1992;
WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission, following a publ~c hearing,
approved the requested Certificate of Appropriateness on October
12, 1992;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Santa Monica Municipal Code Sect~on
9.36.170(h), this certif~cate of Appropriateness shall expire ~f
the work authorized ~s not commenced wlth~n 180 days of the

approval;

WHEREAS, this Cert~ficate of Appropriateness shall exp~re on
April 10, 1993 unless otherw1se extended;
WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission has recommended that the
City Council adopt a resolution extending this certificate of
Appropriateness for the maximum permitted 180 days.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City council has reviewed the LandmarkS

commiss~on/s recommendat~on and extends this Certif~cate of
Appropriateness permit for an additional 180 days.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt~on of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
