RESOLUTION NO. 8557(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA TO BECOME AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER
OF THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COALITION, A NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO DEVELOPING ENERGY
AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFICIENCY ALTERNATIVES
WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monlca deslres to lncrease
energy efflciency opportunltles for ltS facllt1es; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Mon1ca lS lnterested In
promoting energy efficiency for res1dentlal and commerclal
actlvlties throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the City lS likely to galn substantlal beneflts
from Jo~nlng with other organlzatlons lnterested In promotlng
energy efficlency and mlnlffilzlng energy costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty of Santa Monlca shall become an
associate member of the Calflornla Energy Coaltllon, a private
nonprof~t organ2zatlon dedlcated to developing energy and
environmental efficlency alternatlves for its members.
SECTION 2. The Clty Manager shall direct staff to work
with the Callfornla Energy Coalltlon to promote energy efflciency
ln both Clty operatlons and throughout the Clty.

SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk shal~ certlfy to the
adoptlon of this Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be In full force and effect.
