A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO AMEND
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE AND ZONING ORDINANCE
AND DIRECTING THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO INITIATE AN AMENDMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to the Santa Monica Municipal Code
Section 9.04.20.16.020, the City Council does hereby announce its
intention to initiate an amendment to the City of Santa Monica
Comprehensive Land Use and Zoning Ordinance to permit the one for
one replacement of a building destroyed by a catastrophic event
as long as the building is in compliance with the retrofitting
ordinance for unreinforced masonry buildings. The City Council
directs the Planning Commission to consider such an amendment to
the City's Zoning Ordinance.
section 2. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
