A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
ADOPTING THE LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM AND
TRANSMITTING THE LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM TO THE
CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, in November, 1990, the City staff submitted a
draft Land Use Plan to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, on November 14 and 28, December 6 and 19, 1990,
and January 23, 1991, the Planning Commission held public
hearings on the Local Coastal Program and approved it with
certain modifications; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, and October 1, 1991, the city
Council held a public hearing on the Local Coastal Program and
adopted it with certain modifications,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section
30510, the city council certifies that the adopted Land Use Plan
of the Local Coastal Program, attached hereto, is intended to be
carried out in a manner in full conformance with the California
Coastal Act, and that it contains, in accordance with guidellnes

estaclished by the Coas~al Commlssic~f ~aterials sufficient for a
thorough and complete ~eview.
SECTION 2.
'Ihe City CO"J.ncil does hereby authorize the
transmlt~al C~ the approved Local Coastal Program to the
Callfornla Coastal CO~~iSSlO~ for its co~sideration.
SEC~IO~ 3. ~he Clty C:erk shall certlfy to the adoption
of th~s Resolution, a~d thenceforth and thereafter ~he same shall
be in full :orce and effect.
