R-8258 e e CARS:BrM:SS:kb.~esclCka cCuncil Meeti~g: July 9, 1991 Sa~ta Monlca, Ca:ifor~:a RESO~C~=ON NO. 8258(CCSJ___ (CITY CO~NCIL SERIES) A RSSOLCTION OF THE CI'I'Y COCNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA I>lONICA AT:THORIZING THE HOLDING OF A RUNNING RACE ON OCTOBER .5 , 1991 ON A ROT:TE OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL C:TY RourES WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 13 if Resolution Number 6688 (CCS), the City Councll may authorize a race route different from the official City race routes set forth therein, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That on October 5, 1991, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., participants in the st. Monica's lOK Run may and are hereby authorized to conduct a running race along the following route: Start on Washington Boulevard at Lincoln Boulevard proceeding east on ivashington Boulevard to Sixteenth Street, north on sixteenth Street to Alta Avenue, east on Alta Avenue to Twentieth Street, north on Twentieth Street to Marguer1.ta Avenue, west on Marguerita Avenue to Ninth Street, south on Ninth Street to Wilshire Boulevard, west on Wilshire Boulevard to Fifth street, south on - 1 - e e F~=~~ S~ree~ to Broadway, west on Broad~ay to Ocean Ave~~e, ~orth on Ocea~ Avenue (wes~ slde of st~ee":.) to ~fa~guer.: ":a Aver-ue, east 0:1 Margc.eri ta Avenue to ?ourth st~eet, sout~ on Fourth street to vJas:::::1g~cn F.ve:lUe, and east on Hash:.ngton Avenue to the flnlS~ (between Seventh Street and Linco:~ Boulevard) . SECTION 2. permission to conduct the running race lS granted upon the followlng conditions: A. St. Monica's ttlill pay for and post all signage along the race route after approval by the city. B. st. Monica's will notify all residents one block east and west or north and south, as well as along the race route, of the event and of alternative traffic routes, by first class mailing, after approval of the notification letter by City. C. The Santa Monica Police Department will provide the necessary number of police officers for crowd and traffic control along the race route and the actual cost which is estimated to be Five Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($5,600) will be paid by St. Monica's. D. All barricade and cone rental for marking the course will be paid for by st.
