RESOLUTION NUMBER 8253(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE CIVIC
AUDITORIUM SNACK BAR AND BOX OFFICE REMODEL.
WHEREAS, Sectlon 608 of the Santa Monica city Charter
provides that the City Council after rejecting bids may declare
and determlne in its opinion that work may be purchased or
performed at a lower price ln the open market or wlth Clty
employees~ and
WHEREAS, all bids received for the civic Audltorlum
Snack Bar and Box Office remodel were in excess of buctget;and
WHEREAS, the bids received for the work greatly exceeds
the Clty Englneer's cost estlmate for the work,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty Council reJects all bids for the
CiV1C AUditorium Snack Bar and Box Office remodel.
SECTION
2.
In accordance with Santa Monica Clty
Charter Sectlon 608, the Clty Council declares and determines
that, in ltS opinlon, an amended contract wlthin the budget can
be accomplished by negotiation in the open market, and walves
competitlve bidding for the said lmprovements.

SECTION
3.
The Clty Manager 15 author1zed to
negotiate and execute a contract for the Clvic Auditorium Snack
Bar and Box Office remodel.
SECTION
4.
The city Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoption of thlS Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
