RESOLUTION NO. 7484 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF A
RUNNING RACE OF FEBRUARY 6, 1988 ON
A ROUTE OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL CITY ROUTES
AND WAIVE $10,000 RACE FEE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15 of Resolution 6688 (CCS), the City
Councll may authorize a race route different from the offlcial City race
routes set forth thereln,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That on February 6, 1988, between the hours of 8:00 am
and 11:00 am, participants in the Bruce Mitchell 10 Miler Run may and are
hereby authorized to conduct a running race along the following route:
The race will start in Santa Monica on Nellson Way at Hart
and proceed north on Nellson/Ocean to San Vicente, east on
San Vicente to 23rd Street maklng a u-turn, west on San Vicente
to Ocean, south on Ocean to Barnard Way, south on Barnard to the
2600 beach parking lot entrance south of Ocean Park Boulevard for
the finish.
SECTION 2. Permission to conduct the running race is granted upon
the following conditions:
A. Bruce Mitchell 10 Miler will pay for and post all signage along
race route after approval by the Clty.

B. Bruce Mltche11 10 Miler will notlfy all residents one block east
and west or north and south, as well as along the race route, of the
event and of alternative trafflc routes, by first class mail lng,
after approval of letter by City.
C. The Santa Monlca Police Department will provlde the necessary
number of police offlcers for crowd and traffic control along the
race route and the approxlmate $6,000 cost wl11 be paid for by the
Bruce Mitchell 10 Mller.
D. All barrlcade and cone rental for marking the course will be
paid for by the Bruce Mitchell 10 Mller.
E. The Bruce Mitchell 10 Ml1er shall provlde a certificate
of lnsurance for 51,000,000 per lndlvldual incident, namlng
the City of Santa Monlca as additional insured.
F. The Bruce Mitchell 10 Ml1er will clean up and remove
all signage along route after the race.
G. The Bruce Mitchell 10 Miler is exempted from paying the $10,000
race fee.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thlS
Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
