RESOLUTION NO. 7482 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF A
RUNNING RACE ON NOVEMBER 14, 1987 ON
A ROUTE OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL CITY ROUTES
AND WAIVING THE $10,000 RACE FEE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sectlon 15 of Resolution 6688 (CC5), the City
Councll may authorize a race route different from the official City race
routes set forth therein,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. That on November 14, 1987, between the hours of 6:00 am
and 12:00 noon, participants in the Childhelp USA S/IOK Run may and are hereby
authorized to conduct a running race along the following route:
The race wlll start in Santa Monica on Nellson Way at Hart
and proceed north on Neilson/Ocean to San Vicente, east on
San Vlcente to Fourth Street, south on Fourth to Alta making a
u-turn, north on Alta to San Vicente, west on San Vicente
to Ocean, south on Ocean to Barnard Way to the 2600 beach parking
lot entrance south of Ocean Park Boulevard for the finish.
SECTION 2. Permission to conduct the running race is granted upon
the following conditions:
A. Childhelp USA wlll pay for and post all signage along race route
after approval by the City.

B. Childhelp USA will notify all residents one block east and west
or north and south, as well as along the race route, of the event
and of alternative traffic routes, by first class mailing, after
approval of letter by Clty.
C. The Santa Monlca Pollee Department wlll provide the necessary
number of pollee officers for crowd and trafflc control along the
race route and the approximate $4,600 cost will be pald for by
Childhe 1 p USA.
D. All barrlcade and cone rental for marking the course will be
paid for by Childhelp USA.
E. Childhelp USA shall provlde a certlficate of lnsurance for
$1,000,000 per lndividual incident, naming the City of Santa Monica
as additional insured.
F. Chlldhelp USA will clean up and remove all signage along route
after the race.
G. Childhelp USA is exempted from paying the $10,000 race fee.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
