A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE AND
AUTHORIZING DIRECT PURCHASE OF FURNITURE INCLUDING INSTALLATION
FOR THE AIRPORT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
WHEREAS, the selection of furnishings and millwork
design were required as part of the contract to design the
Airport Administration Building; and,
WHEREAS, a furni ture package was developed through a
process that included soliciting competitive bids for certain
items on the open market, and confirmed prices were received;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica
authorizes the purchase of furniture, including installation, in
the open market without further compliance with Municipal Code
section 2508 in that to advertise for bids would be of no avail
and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the city of Santa Monica
does hereby authorize the city Manager to negotiate and execute
the procurement of furniture, including installation, for the
Airport Department Administration Building.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
