RESOLUTION NO. 7403(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING
FOR REPAIR OF CITY YARDS FUEL FACILITY AND
TREATMENT OF CONTAMINATED SOIL
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the city Manager has conoluded that there is
an urgent need to enter into a contract to repair the City Yard's
Fuel Dispensing Facility and to treat soil contaminated with fuel
products; and
WHEREAS, the repair work and soil treatment are of
urgent necessity for the preservation of life, health and
property; and
WHEREAS, City Charter Section 608 and Municipal Code
seotion 2508 authorize the waiving of competitive bids for the
reasons set forth in this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The city counoil of the city of Santa
Monica waives competitive bidding for repair work to the city
Yards Fuel Facility and for the treatment of oontaminated soil in
an amount not to exceed $320,000. The City Manager is authorized

to exeoute any and all contracts neoessary to secure such repairs
and soil treatment.
SECTION 2. The city counoil shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenoeforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
