A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ENDORSING
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SANTA
MONICA PIER WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF
THE WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD'S
PUBLIC FISHING PIER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desires to
reconstruct the Santa Monica Pier in cooperation with the State
of California under the Wildlife Conservation Board's Public
Fishing Pier Program; and
WHEREAS, the reconstruction of the Santa Monica Pier
for the purpose of sportfishing and other recreation is in the
public interest, and would benefit the people of this area as
well as the State generally.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica goes vn record in
favor of the reconstruction of a portion of the Santa Monica Pier
on a matching basis with the State of California, by and through
the Wildlife Conservation Board, Department of Fish and Game.
SECTION 2. The City of Santa Monica agrees that in the
event of such development it will enter into a twenty-five (25)
year lease and operation agreement with the State for the
designated portion, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to

sign such an agreement or other documents required in connection
with this project.
SECTION 3.
The city of Santa Monica agrees to
cooperate fully with the Wildlife Conservation Board of the State
Department of Fish and Game in such a cooperative project as
described and will forward a copy of this resolution to said
Wildlife Conservation Board.
SECTION 4.
The city Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
