A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EHERGENCY
WHEREAS,

Code SectIon 2305 authorIzes the
Director of Emergency Servlces to proclalm the ex~stence or
threatened eXIstence of a local emergency when the City of Santa
Hon1ca 1S affected or llkely to be affected by a publlC calam1ty
and the CIty Council IS not ln seSS10nj and
WHEREAS, commenclng on January 27, 1983, condltions of
extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arIsen
wIthln the CIty of Santa MonIca caused by storm, hIgh tldes, and
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the G1ty Council was not ln sess~on on January 27,
1983; and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the D1rector of Emergency
SerVIces of the CIty of Santa MonIca did proclalm the eXlstence
of a local emergency wlthln the Clty of Santa MonIca; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the CIty Counc11 adopted
Resolutlon

approv1ng, the proclamatIon of local emergency by the DIrector of
Emergency Serv1ces; and

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
