RESOLUTION NO. 7238(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DEDICATING PROPERTY TO THE CITY
OF LOS ANGELES FOR FUTURE STREET WIDENING AND
AGREEING TO HOLD THE PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS
THE CHARNOCK WELL FIELD AS ONE PARCEL.
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Monica owns real property,
commonly known as the Charnock Well Field, within the city of Los
Angeles; and
WHEREAS, two dedicated but undeveloped streets named
Corinth Avenue and Purdue Avenue, northwesterly of Westminster
Avenue, extend partially into the Charnock Well Field; and
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Monica has requested of the
City of Los Angeles that the undeveloped portions of the streets
named Corinth Avenue and Purdue Avenue, northwesterly of
westminster Avenue, be vacated; and
WHEREAS, the city of Los Angeles has conditionally
approved the vacation request under Los Angeles city council File
No. 84-1976, on September 11, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the conditions set for the vacation include
the dedication by the city of Santa Monica of a two foot wide
portion of the Charnock well field property contiguous with the
entire public right-of-way on westminster Avenue and Butler
Avenue for future street widening and agreement to hold the
property adjacent to the land proposed to be vacated as one
parcel.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The city Manager is directed to execute
the "COVENANT AND AGREEMENT TO HOLD PROPERTY AS ONE PARCEL" with
the City of Los Angeles, pertaining to the property adjacent to
and including the land now known as Corinth Avenue and Purdue
Avenue, northwesterly of westminster.
SECTION 2. The city Manager is directed to execute
the "IRREVOCABLE OFFER TO DEDICATE" with the City of Los Angeles
pertaining to the dedication of a two foot wide portion of City
property commonly known as the Charnock Well Field contiguous
with the public right-of-way of Westminster Avenue and Butler
Avenue.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
