AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AND
THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 1924 (CCS)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 The contract between the City Council of the City of Santa Momca and
the Board of Administration, Callforma PubliC Employees' Retirement System ("Contract")
IS hereby amended A copy of the amendment ("Amendment") IS attached hereto, marked
Exhibit A, and Incorporated herein by thiS reference
SECTION 2 The City Manager IS hereby authOrized, empowered, and directed to
execute the Amendment to the Contract for and on behalf of the City
SECTION 3 Ordinance No 1924 (CCS) IS repealed
SECTION 4 Any provIsion of the Santa Monica MUnicIpal Code or appendices
thereto Inconsistent With the provIsions of thiS Ordinance, to the extent of such
inCOnsistencies and no further, are also repealed or modified to that extent necessary to
affect the provIsions of this Ordinance
SECTION 5 If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
Ordinance IS for any reason held to be Invalid or unconstitutional by a deCISion of any court
of any competent jUrisdiction, such decIsion shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portIons of this Ordinance The City Council hereby declares that It would have passed
this OrdInance, and each and every section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase not
declared Invalid or unconstitutional Without regard to whether any portion of the Ordinance
would be subsequently declared invalid or unconstitutional
SECTION 6 The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the passage
of this Ordinance The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once In the official
newspaper Within 15 days after ItS adoption This Ordinance shall become effective after
30 days from Its adoptIon

pnor and current service as an ocean beach lifeguard shall be determmed In
accordance With Section 21366 of said RetIrement Law (One-half pay at age 55

7 The percentage of final compensatIon to be prOVided for each year of credned
pnor and current service as a local polIce member and local fire member shall be
determmed m accordance WIth SectIon 2136~ of Said RetIrement LalA (2l}'o at age
50 Full)

11 Contnbunons reqUIred of PublIc Agency and Its employees shall be subject to
adjustment by Board on account of amendments to the Pubhc Employees'
RetIrement La",. and on account of the expenence under the Retlrement System
as determmed by the penodIc mvestlgatIon and valuatlon reqUIred by SaId
RetIrement La\\
12 ContnbutIons requIred of PublIc Agenc) and ItS employees shall be paId b~
PublIc Agency to the RetIrement System wlthm fifteen days after the end of the
penod to which said contrIbutIOns refer or as ma) be prescnbed by Board
regulatIOn If more or less than the correct amount of contnbutlOns IS paId for an~
penod, proper adjustment shall be made In connectIon wIth subsequent
remittances Adjustments on account of errors m contnbuttOns reqmred of an)
