AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTIONS 3393A, 3393B, 3393C, 3393D, AND 3393E AND
REPEALING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3393F INCREASING PARKING
METER RATES AND AUTHORIZING PARKING METERS TO BE
PLACED ON VARIOUS CITY STREETS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION L Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 3393A is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393A. parking Meter Zone
"A."
(a) The following named and
described streets or portions of streets
within the City shall constitute Zone
"A: II
(1) All streets lying west
of Lincoln Boulevard between the north
and south City limits to the west City
limit, as well as all streets lying north
of Santa Monica Boulevard between the
east and west City limits to the north
City limit, including both sides of the

boundary streets, except that portion of
Lincoln Bou1evard lying between Broadway
and the south city limit.
(2) All side streets
intersecting Santa Monica Boulevard from
that intersection to a point where
commercially zoned parcels end.
(3) Ocean Park Boulevard
between 25th street and Centinela Avenue
and all streets intersecting Ocean Park
Boulevard from that intersection to a
point where commercially zoned parcels
end.
(4) Both sides of 28th
street and 31st street south of Ocean
Park Boulevard.
(b) Parking a vehicle in a
designated space in Zone ItAn shall be
lawful for 60 minutes for each fifty

SECTION 2. Santa Monica Municipal Code section 3393B is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393B. parking Meter Zone
"B."
(a) The following named and

"B:"
(1) All streets lying within
the area bounded by Lincoln Boulevard,
Broadway, the east city limits, and the
south City limits, including both sides
of the boundary streets and all side
streets intersecting Broadway from that
intersection to a point where
commercially zoned parcels end.
(b) Parking a vehicle in a
designated space in Zone nB" shall be
lawful for 60 minutes for each
thirty-five cents ($0.35) in coin, and
for an additional 60 minutes for each
thirty-five cents ($0.35) in coin
deposited thereafter.
(e) Parking meters shall be
operated in Zone "B" at such times as
posted by the Parking and Traff ic
Engineer.

SECTION 3. Santa Monica Municipal Code section 3393C is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393C. Parking Meter Zone
"C."
(a) All parking lots owned or
operated by the City of Santa Monica
shall constitute Zone "c," excepting
those parking lots owned by the Parking
Authority of the City of Santa Monica.
(b) Parking a vehicle in a
designated space in Zone "CfI shall be
lawful for 60 minutes upon the deposit of
fifty cents ($0.50) in coin, and for an
additional 60 minutes for each fifty
cents ($0.50) in coin deposited
thereafter.

Boulevard, Fourth street, Broadway, and
Second Street shall constitute Zone "D.n
(b) Parking a vehicle in a
designated space in Zone "DIt shall be
lawful for 60 minutes upon the deposit of
fifty cents ($0.50) in coin, and for an
additional 60 minutes for each fifty
cents ($0.50) in coin deposited
thereafter.
(c) Parking meters shall be
operated in Zone "Dn at such times as
posted by the Parking and Traffic
Engineer.
SECTION 5. Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 3393E is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393E. parking Meter Zone
"B."
(a) All parking facilities owned
by the Parking Authority of the city of
Santa Monica shall constitute Zone "E."
(b) Parking rates for parking a
vehicle in a designated space in Zone uE"
shall be established by resolution of the
Parking Authority of the Ci ty of Santa
Monica.

SECTION 6.

Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 3393 F is
SECTION 7. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provisions of
this Ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistencies and no
further, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary
to affect the provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 8. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of any competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed this Ordinance, and each and
every section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase not
declared invalid or unconstitutional without regard to whether
any portion of the Ordinance would be subsequently declared
invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 9. The Mayor shall sign and the city Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk shall

cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper
within 15 days after its adoption. This Ordinance shall become
effective after 30 days from its adoption.
