AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2201
TO ESTABLISH A DIVISION OF
PARKING AND TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2201 of the Santa Monica Municipal Code
lS amended to read as follows:
Sectlon 2201.
Functions of
Department.
The Department of General
Services shall be composed of the
following divisions:
(a) Englneerlng Divislon.
(b) Maintenance Dlvision.
(c) Utl1lties Dlvision.
(d) Parklng and Traffic Englneer-
ing Division.
The department shall coordlnate and
supervise the exercise of all the
functlons whlch heretofore may have been
or hereafter may be asslgned to said
divlsions.

SECTION 2.
Any prOV1S1on of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendlces thereto inconsl..stent wlth the provisions of
thl..S ordlnance, to the extent of such lnconslstencies and no
further, are hereby repealed or modlfied to that extent necessary
to affect the provls10ns of this ordinance.
SECTION 3.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstltutlonal by a decision of any court of any competent
jurisdlctlon, such decisl..on shall not affect the validity of the
remal..nlng portl..ons of the ordinance.
The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed thlS ordlnance and each and
every sectlon, subsectl..on, sentence, clause or phrase not
declared invalld or unconstitutlonal without regard to whether
any portion of the ordinance would be subsequently declared
lnvalid or unconstitutlonal.
SECTION 4.
The Mayor shall sl..gn and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance.
This City Clerk shall
cause the same to be published once ln the official newspaper
wlthl..n 15 days after ltS adoption.
The ordinance shall become
effectl..ve after 30 days from lts adoption.
