AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING
MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 3393A AND 3393B
RELATING TO PARKING METER ZONES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
SectIon 3393A of the Santa MonIca Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393A. Parking Meter Zone
"A".
(a) The
following
named
and
described streets or portlons of streets
within the Clty shall constitute Zone "A"
namely:
(1) All of Ocean Avenue and all
streets southwesterly thereof, including
the munIcipal pler, and excluding the
area bounded by P1CO Boulevard to the
South City lImIts, Neilson Way to Ocean
Avenue-Barnard Way, Inclusive.
(2) All streets lying within the
area bounded by Ocean Avenue, Lincoln

Boulevard, California Avenue and Colorado
Avenue, lncluding both sides of the
boundary streets.
(3) All streets lying within the
area bounded by Wilshlre Boulevard, Santa
Monlca Boulevard, Lincoln Boulevard, and
the east city llmits, including both
sides of the boundary streets.
(4) All of Main Street between
Colorado Avenue and Pica Boulevard.
(5) All of Lincoln Boulevard
between Santa Monica Boulevard to Olympic
Boulevard.
(b) Parking
a
vehicle
in
a
deslgnated space in Zone "A" shall be
lawful for 60 minutes upon the deposit of
25 cents 1n C01n, and for an additional
60 minutes for each 25 cents in coin
deposited thereafter.
{c) Parking meters shall be
operated in Zone II A" every day between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

SECTION 2. SectIon 3393B of the Santa MonIca Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3393B. parkIn9 Meter Zone
"BU.
(a) The following named and
described streets or portIons of streets
wIthin the CIty shall constitute Zone
"B", namely:
(1) All streets lying within the
area bounded by OlympIc Boulevard,
Virginia Avenues, 20th Street, and the
east city limits, including both sides of
the boundary streets.
(2) All streets lying wIthIn the
area bounded by Broadway, Olympic
Boulevard, Lincoln Boulevard, and the
east city limits, including both sides of
boundary streets except for Lincoln
Boulevard, which shall not be included
withln the zone.
(b) ParkIng
a
vehlcle
in
a
desIgnated space in Zone UB" shall be
lawful for 60 mInutes upon the deposIt of
10 cents In COIn, and for an additIonal
60 minutes for each 10 cents in COIn
deposited thereafter.

(c) Parking meters may be operated
In Zone liB" twenty-four hours per day or
less, as posted by the Parking and
Traff~c Engineer.
SECTION 3. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendices thereto 1nconsistent with the provis1ons of
this ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistencies and no
further, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary
to affect the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. If any section, subsect~on, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordinance IS for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstitutional by a decls10n of any court of any competent
Jurisdiction, such decls~on shall not affect the valld~ty of the
remaining portions of the ord~nance. The CIty Counc~l hereby
declares that It would have passed thlS ordlnance and each and
every section, subsectIon, sentence, clause or phrase not
declared Invalld or unconstItutional without regard to whether
any portion of the ordinance would be subsequently declared
inval~d or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. This City Clerk shall
cause the same to be published once in the officIal newspaper
withIn 15 days after its adoption. The ord~nance shall become
effective after 30 days from its adoption.
