AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING SECTION 7163 OF THE
SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH THE
GENERAL SERVICES FIELD INSPECTION AND PLAN
CHECK FEE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section 7163 of the Santa Monlca Municlpal
Code 1S amended to read as follows

7164 through 7167 shall apply 1n all zones
unless
specif1cally
exempted
by
ot he r
approvals of subd1vlslons, land divlsions,

permlts,
variances,
architectural reVlew. or other discretlonary
approvals or unless specifically waived by the
Clty Councl1 where their appllcation would
ca use
hazardous
or
ot he r
undeslrable
s1tuations.
(b) Pnor
to
acceptance
of
any
development plans by Clty staff to determine
the
access
and lmprovements requlrements

Any fleld lnspectlon or plan check serVlces not
covered by the above fees shall be performed by Clty
staff at the rate of $15 per hour.
SECTION 2.
Any provlslon of the Santa Monica Munic1pal
Code or append1ces thereto lnconslstent wlth the provlslons of
thlS ordinance, to the extent of such inconslstencies and no
further, is hereby repealed or modlfied to that extent necessary
to affect the provlslons of this ordlnance.
SECTION 3.
If any sectlon, subsection, sentence,
clause. or phrase of thls ord1nance 1S for any reason held to be
lnvalld or unconstltutlonal by a dec;slon of any court of

competent
Jurlsdlctiont such deC1Slon shall not affect the
validlty of the remaining portlons of the ordlnance. The City
Council hereby declares that lt would have passed thlS ordinance
and each and every sectlont subsectlont sentence, clause or phrase
not declared lnvalid or unconstltutlonal without regard to whether
any portlon of the ordlnance would be subsequently declared
invalld or unconstltutlonal.
SECTION 4.
The Mayor shall sign and the Clty Clerk
shall attest to the passage of this ordlnance. The Clty Clerk
shall cause the same to be published once in the officlal
newspaper wlthln 15 days after ltS adoptlon. The ordlnance shall
become effectlve 30 days from lts adoptlon.
