AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING
SECTION 3368 OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 3368 of the Santa Monica M~nicipal Code
is amended to read as follows:
Section
3368.
Parking Parallel
with Curb and Head-In parking.
(a) No person shall stand or park
a vehicle in a roadway or street other
than
parallel with the edge of the
roadway
headed
in the direction of
traffic and with the right-hand wheels of
the vehicle within eighteen inches of the
c~rb line or edge of the roadway, except
that on one-way streets, vehicles may be
stopped or parked facing in the same
direction as traffic movement, adjacent
to the left-hand sIde of the roadway, but
the left-hand wheels of vehicles so
stopped or parked m~st be within eighteen

inches of the c~rb line or edge of
roadway. All parking shall be parallel,
except ~pon those streets which have been
marked or signed by the Parking and
Traffic Engineer for angle parking ~pon
which streets vehicles shall be parked at
the angle to the c~rb indicated by s~ch
marks or signs and not otherwise.
(b) No person shall disobey
instructlons of any officlal traffic sign
req~iring head-in parking.
SECTION 2. Any provision of the Santa Monica M~nicipal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provisions of
this ordinance, to the extent of s~ch inconsistencies and no
f~rther, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary
to affect the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. If any sectlon, s~bsection, sentence, cla~se,
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be lnvalid
or unconstit~tional by a declsion of any co~rt of any competent
J~rlsdlction, s~ch decislon shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of the ordinance. The City Co~ncil hereby
declares that it wo~ld have passed this ordinance and each and
every section, subsection, sentence, cla~se or phrase not
declared invalid or ~nconstit~tional witho~t regard to whether
any portion of the ordinance wOkld be skbseq~ently declared
invalid or knconstit~tional.

SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. This City Clerk shall
ca~se the same to be p~bl~shed once in the official newspaper
within lS days after its adopt~on.
The ord~nance shall become
effective after 30 days from its adoption.
