AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING
MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 3393A, 3393B, and 3393C
RELATING TO PARKING METER ZONES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
SectIon 3393A of the Santa Monica MunIcipal
Code is amended to read as follows:

(a) The
followIng
named
and
described streets or portions of streets
withln the CIty shall constitute Zone "All
namely:
(l) All of Ocean Avenue and all
streets southwesterly thereof, including
the munIcIpal pier, and excluding the
area bounded by PICa Boulevard to the
South City limits, NeIlson Way to Ocean
Avenue-Barnard Way, inclusIve.
(2) All streets lying withIn the
area bounded by Ocean Avenue, Lincoln

Boulevard, Callfornia Avenue and Colorado
Avenue, lncludlng both sldes of the
boundary streets.
(3) All streets lYlng wlthin the
area bounded by Wllshlre Boulevard,
Olymplc Boulevard, Llncoln Boulevard, and
the east city limlts, includlng both
sldes of the boundary streets.
(4) All of Maln Street between
Colorado Avenue and PlCO Boulevard.
(b) Parking a vehicle in a
deslgnated space In Zone "A" shall be
lawful for 60 mlnutes upon the deposit of
25 cents in coin, and for an additional
60 minutes for each 25 cents in coin
deposited thereafter.
(c) Parking meters shall be
operated In Zone "A" every day between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
SECTION 2. Section 3393B of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:

"B", namely:

(1) All streets lYIng wIthin the
area bounded by OlympIc Boulevard,
Virginia Avenues, 20th Streetl and the
east city limits, IncludIng both sIdes of
boundary streets except for OlympIc
Boulevard, which shall not be Included
wIthIn the Zone.
(b) Parking a vehIcle in a
designated space In Zone "B" shall be
lawful for 60 mInutes upon the deposIt of
10 cents in coin, and for an additional
60 minutes for each 10 cents in COIn
deposited thereafter.
(c) ParkIng meters may be operated
In Zone "B" twenty-four hours per day or
less, as posted by the ParkIng and
Traffic Engineer.
SECTION 3. Section 3393C of the Santa Monica MunIcipal
Code is amended to read as follows:

(a) All streets within the City
not specifically described in thIS
section shall constItute Zone "Cu.
(b) Parking

designated space in Zone "C" shall be
lawful for 60 minutes upon the deposit of

minutes for each 25 cents In coin
deposIted thereafter.
(c) Parking meters shall be
operated In Zone "C" every day between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
except Sundays and holidays.
SECTION 4. Any provision of the Santa Monica MunIcIpal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provIsIons of
this ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistencIes and no
further, are hereby repealed or modIfied to that extent necessary
to affect the provisIons of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. If any sectIon, subsection, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalId
or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of any competent
jurisdictIon, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainIng portIons of the ordinance. The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed this ordInance and each and
every sectIon, subsectIon, sentence, clause or phrase not
declared Invalid or unconstItutIonal wIthout regard to whether
any portIon of the ordInance would be subsequently declared
invalId or unconstItutIonal.
SECTION 6. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordInance. ThIS CIty Clerk shall
cause the same to be publIShed once In the official newspaper
wIthin 15 days after Its adoptIon. The ordinance shall become
effective after 30 days from its adoption.
