AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING
SECTION 33750 OF THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO IMPOUNDING
VEHICLE PARKED ON STREET
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sect10n 3375D of the Santa Monica Mun1cipal Code
is amended to read as follows:

VehIcle
Parked on Street. Any vehLcle which has been
parked or left standIng on any street, alley
or publLc way for a perLod longer than 72
consecutIve hours may be removed by any
police offIcer pursuant to SectIon 22651 of
the VehIcle Code of the State of CalIfornIa.
SECTION 2.
Any proviSIon of the Santa Monica MunLc1pal
Code or appendices thereto Inconsistent wIth the prov1sIons of
thLs ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistenc1es and no
further, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary
to affect the provisions of this ordlnance.
SECTION 3. If any sectIon, subsection, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordInance is for any reason held to he Invalid
or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of any competent

jur1sd1ction, such dec1sion shall not affect the valid1ty of the
rema1n1ng portions of the ord1nance. The City Council hereby
declares that 1t would have passed th1S ord1nance and each and
every
section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase not
declared inval1d or unconst1tut1onal without regard to whether
any port1on of the ord1nance would be subsequently declared
1nvalid or unconst1tutional.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. This C1ty Clerk shall
cause the same to be publ1shed once 1n the official newspaper
w1thin 15 days after ~ts adopt1on.
The ordInance shall become
effect1ve after 30 days from Its adoptIon.
