AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA FIXING THE TAX RATE AND LEVYING TAX FOR
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1981, FOR THE
PARKING AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. For the purpose of raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by an ad valorem tax upon all of
the land and improvements (but excluding personal property)
in the Parking and Business Improvement Area in addition to
the taxes levied in Taxation District Number 1, a tax 1S
levied at the rate of $2.10 upon each $100.00 of assessed
value of the property as assessed by the County Assessor and
equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles.
Said Parking and Business Improvement Area has an
assessed
valuation of $73,917,678 and is described as
follows:
"Bounded on the northeasterly side by the center
line of 4th Court, the southeasterly side by the
center line of Broadway, the southwesterly side by
the center line of 1st Court, and the northwesterly
slde by the center of Wilshire Boulevard, all in
the City of Santa Monica."
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to
be invalid or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of

competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance. The
City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this
ordinance and each section, subsection, clause or phrase
hereof, irrespective of the fact that anyone or more
sections, subsect~ons, clauses or phrases be declared invalid
or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. The Mayor shall s~gn and the City Clerk
shall attest to the passage of this ordinance. The City
Clerk shall cause same to be published once in the off~cial
newspaper within fifteen (is) days after its adoption. This
ordinance
shall
take effect immediately upon adoption
pursuant to Section 619 of the Charter of the City of Santa
Mon1ca.
