AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ADDING
SECTION 7206 TO THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING WATER
CONSTRUCTION AND CONNECTION FEES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 7206 1S added to the Santa Monica Municipal Code
to read as follows:
Section 7206. WATER CONSTRUCTION AND CONNECTION FEE.
(a) The owner or developer of a building 1n the C1ty shall pay a water
construction and connection fee to the City. This fee shall be paid to the
Department of General Serv1ces before the issuance of the next permit or
certificate requlred in the course of development or occupancy of the build1ng.
ThlS fee shall be payable regardless of whether or not an actual connectlon to
the water system has been made. No C1ty permit or certificate of occupancy
shall be lssued in connection w1th a building until the Department of General
Services cert1fies payment of the fees prescrlbed in th15 section.
(b) The fee shall be established and from time to time amended or
revised by Resolution of the City Council.
(c) This fee shall be supplementary to all other fees and charges
requlred by this Chapter.

SECTION 2. Any provision of the Santa Monica Muntctpal Code
or appendices thereto 1nconsistent herewith, to the extent of such inconsis-
tencies and no further, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent neces-
sary to effect the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance is held to be uncon-
stitutional by any court of competent jurisd1ct1on, it is the intent of the
City Council that such portion of such ordinance be severable from the remainder
and the remainder be given full force and effect.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall 51gn and the City Clerk shall attest to
the passage of this ordinance. The C1ty Clerk shall cause the same to be
published once 1n the off1cial newspaper within 15 days after its adoption. The
ordinance shall become effect1ve from and after ltS adoption.
