AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS", 889
AND 94.8., AND--DECLARING THE CITY COUNCIL TO BE THE
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY. OF SANTA
MONICA, VESTING ITSELF WITHALL_RIGHTS~ POWERS,
DUTIES, PRIVILEGES AND I~1UNITIES HERETOFORE

DECESSOR REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OE ALL RIGHTS;'
POWERS, DUTIES~'PRrvILEGES AND IMMUNITIES
HERETOFORE VESTED IN IT
THE CITY COONCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance Nos. 889 and 948 are hereby repealed
and the following provisions enacted in lieu thereof.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 33200
of the Cal~fornia Health and Safety Code, the City Council of the
City of Santa Monica, the leg~slat~ve body of sa1d City, does hereby
declare itself to be the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa
Monica and vests in ltself, all rights, powers, duties, privileges
and lmmunities heretofore vested in the Redevelopment Agency of the
City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 3. Any rights, powers, duties, privileges or
immun1ties heretofore vested 1n any predecessor redevelopment agency
are hereby ter.minated, and all such rights, powers, duties, privileges
and lmmunlties are succeeded to by the City Council of the City of
Santa Monica, as the Redevelopment Agency of the C~ty of Santa Monica.
The provlsions of this section are not intended to terminate or to
be construed as a termination of any rights, powers, duties,
privileges and immunities which said Redevelopment Agency may have

ln relation to persons other than the City of Santa Monica, the
Redevelopment Agency of the Clty of Santa Monlca or the City
Council of the City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 4. The Mayor of the City of Santa Monica s~all
be the Chalrman of said successor Redevelopment Agency, the Mayor
Pro Tem, the Chairman Pro Tem of said agency, the City Manager,
the Executlve Director of sald agency, the Clty Clerk, the Secretary
of said agency, and the Treasurer of the City of Santa Monica,
the Treasurer of said agency, and each of sald offlcers shall serve
without any compensatlon in addition to that which they receive as
offlcers and employees of the Clty of Santa Monlca.
SECTION 5. Any and all ordinances, resolutions, or other
provislons of law directly or 1ndirectly contrary to the provis~ons
of this ordinance, are hereby repealed to the extent of sald
inconsistency.
SECTION 6. If any provision of this ordinance is held to
be invalid in any respect, lt is intended that the remalnder of
this ordlnance be in full force and effect and that the valid
portions be severable from the invalid portions.
SECTION 7. The Clty Council hereby declares this measure
to be an improvement proceed~ng ordlnance adopted pursuant to
Sectlon 33200 of the Californla Health and Safety Code.
SECTION 8. The Mayor shall slgn and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ord~nance. The City Clerk shall cause
the same to be published once in the official newspaper within lS
days after lts adoption. ThlS ordinance shall take effect upon

adoption, pursuant to Section 619 of the City Charter of the
Clty of Santa Monica.
