AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING THE SANTA
MONICA ELECTIONS CODE APPLICABLE TO THE
APRIL 14, 1981 ELECTION FOR THE SANTA MONICA
RENT CONTROL BOARD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The provisions of Article XI of the Santa Monica
Municlpal Code, re1atlng to elections practices, are hereby made
applicable to the April 14, 1981 election for Rent Control Board
membership, and candIdates for such office and persons acting
on their behalf shall comply therewith.
SECTION 2. The Santa Monica Rent Control Board, its
members and its administrative officer, are required to comply
with each and every provisIon of Article XI of the Santa Monica
MuniCIpal Code to the same extent as the City Council, its
members, and its administrative offlcer.
SECTION 3. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. The City Clerk shall
cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper
withIn fifteen (15) days after its adoption. As this ordinance
relates to an election, pursuant to Section 6l9(a) of the City
Charter, it shall become effective from and after its adoption.
