ORDINANCE NO. 1183

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REPEALING
AND REPLACING SECTIONS 7501 AND 7502
AND AMENDING SECTION 7504 OF CHAPTER 5,
ARTICLE VIII OF THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. Exist1ng Sections 7501 and 7502 of the
Santa Monlca Municipal Code are hereby repealed and shall be
replaced with revised section 7501 and 7502 to read as follows:
SECTION 7501. MAPS AND DRAWINGS. Fees
shall be paid to the City Treasurer for
maps and drawings furnished by the City
Engineer. The fees shall be established and
periodically adJusted by Resolutlon of the
Clty Councll.
SECTION 7502. STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
Fees shall be charged and paid to the
Clty Treasurer for bound copies of Standard
Speciflcatlons. The fees shall he established
and periodically adJusted by Resolution of
the City Council.
SECTION 2. Sectlon 7504 of the Santa Monica Municipal-
Code 15 hereby amended and as amended shall read as follows:

SECTION 7504. ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS.
A deposit may be collected
from prospect~ve bldders, for plans and
specifications for public works improvement
projects, to insure the ~eturn of said plans
and speclfications after bids have been sub--
mitted. Such deposit shall be paid to the
City Treasurer of the City. Such deposit
shall be refunded to the prospective bidder
upon return of the plans and specifications
and presentation of a receipt validated by
the officer distributing such plans and
specifications. Mailing and handling fees
may be charged to the prospective b~dder in
appropriate amounts as determined by the
City Engineer.

SECTION 3. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendlces thereto inconsistent therewith, to tbe,extent
of such inconsistencies and no further, are hereby repealed or
modified to that extent necessary to affect the provisions of
this ordinance.
SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstitutlonal by a decision of any court of any competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the

remaining portions of the ordinance. The City Council hereby
deClares that it would have passed this ordinance and each and
every section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase not de-
clared invalid or unconstitutional without regard to whether
any portion of the ordinance would be subsequently declared
inval~d or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk
shall attest to the passage of this ordinance. The City Clerk
shall cause the same to be publ1shed once in the official news-
paper within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. The ordinance
shall become effective after thirty (30) days from its adoption.
