AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAl~TA MONICA AMENDING THE
DISTRICTING MAP WHICH IS A PART OF
CHAPTER I, ARTICLE IX, SECTION 9103
OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE,
REGARDING THAT AREA KNOWN AS "ANNEXA-
TION NO.7."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Sectlon I. The distrlcting map which is attached to and
made a part of Chapter IT Artlcle IX, Section 9103 of the Santa
Monlca Municipal Code is hereby aQended as follows:
"That area lying along the rim of Santa
Monlca Canyon, westerly of San Vlcente
Boulevard, now known as "Annexation No. 7
of 1978", WhlCh property has been annexed
to the Clty of Santa Monica, is hereby
classifled R-l slngle family district."
Sectlon 2. The Clty Council finds that a publlC hearing
was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Monica,
on February 5, 1979, and that the Planning Commission has recommended
such classification of ZQne to the City Council.

Sectlon 3. The Clty Council flnds and determlnes that
the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning
practlce require that the classiflcation set forth ln Seetlon 1 be made.
Section 4. Any provisions of the Santa Monica Munlcipal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent herewith, to the extent

of such inconsistencies and no further, are hereby repealed or
modlfied to that extent necessary to effect the prov~sions of this
O{dinance.
Sect~on 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalld
or unconstltutional by a dec1sion of any court"Qf competent juris-
diction, ~ueh dedision shall not affect the validity of the remain-
lng portions of the ordlnance. The Clty Counc~l hereby declares
that it would have passed thlS ordinance and each and every sectlon,
subsection, sentence, clause or phrase not declared lnvalid or un-
constitutional wlthout regard to whether any portion of the ordlnance
~would be subsequently declared invalid or unconstltut~onal.
Section 6. The Mayor shall slgn and the C1ty Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ord1nance. The City Clerk shall cause
the same to be publlshed once ~n the offlcial newspaper within flfteen
(IS) days after its adoption. The ordlnance shall become effective
thirty (30) days from its adoptioo.
