AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMEND-
ING SECTION 3388 AND 33~8A (l) OF-
AND ADDING SECTIONS 3388F, 33921,
AND 3392J TO THE SANTA MONICA HUNI-
CIPAL CODE, ESTABLISHING HOURLY
PARKING RATES ON CERTAIN STREETS IN
THE BEACH AREA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI~Y OF SANTA MONICA HEREBY
ORDAINS AS FOLLa~s:
SECTION 1. Section 3388 of The Santa Monlca Munlcipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sectlon 3388 Parking Meter Zones. There shall be
six (6) parklng meter zones 1n the Clty called, respectively,
Parking l>1eter Zone II All Parking Meter Zone "B", -Parklng r-J.eter
Zone IfCII, Parking Meter Zone IID", Parking Met.er'-'Zone: fl;E~ aha
Parklng Meter Zone IIF".
SECTION 2. Sectlon 3388A (I) of the Santa Monica
Munic1pal Code lS hereby amended to read as follows:
Sectlon 3388A (l).
All of Ocean Avenue and all streets
southwesterly thereof, lncluding the munic1pal pier, and exclud1ng
the area bounded by Pico Boulevard to the south City l~mits,
Neilson Way to Ocean Avenue - Barnard Way, lnclusive.
SECTION 3. Section 3388F is hereby added to the

Section.3388F Parklng Meter Zone "F". The follow1ng
named and described area streets or portions of streets lying
wlthlD the corporate limits of the City of Santa Monlca shall
constitute Parking Meter Zone "FII; namely Pleo Boulevard to
the s~utr ~ity I1mitSl Ne1~son Way to Ocean Avenue - Barnard

SECTION 4. Seation 33921
lS hereby added to the
Santa Mon~CatMunicipa~ Code and shall read as follows:
,Section 33J2! ! Parking or standing a veh~cle ln a
de<s:ignated space in Parklng l-teter Zonellpll shall be lawful for
twelve (~2) minutes upon the deposit of a five (S) cent cOln,
and for an additional twelve(12) ~nutes for each flve cent COlD
deposited in addition thereto. In no event shall It be lawful
to park or stand a vehicle 1n a designated space ln Parklng
Meter Zone "Fit ln excess of the rnaxlmum park1.ng time 11mit establ1shed
for each such space by the Parklng and Traffic Engineer, and
no park1ng meter shall be capable of register~ng permitted park~ng
time in excess of the t1me established for such space by the
Parking and Traffic Englneer.
SECTION 5. Sectlon 3392J is hereby added to the
Santa Monlca Munic1pal Code and shall read as follows:
Seetlon 3392J.
Parking Meters shall be operated
in Parklng Ue,ter Zone uF" every day between the hours of 9: 00 A.M.

SECTION 6. The Mayor shall sign and the City
Clerk shall attest to the passage of this ordinance. The
City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the
official newspaper withln flfteen (IS) days after l~S
adoptlon. TIns ordinance shall become effective lInmedlately
upon adoptlon pursuant to Section 6l9(c} of the City Charter
of the Clty of Santa Monlca.
