AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AMENDING SECTIONS 2612A, 2612B
AND 2612C OF THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING OFFICIAL
BONDS OF CITY OFFICERS AND
EMPLOYEES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section 2612A of the Santa Monica
Munlcipal Code 18 hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 26l2A. PUBLIC OFFICIAL BONDS.
The C1ty Treasurer 15 hereby requlred
to execute, to the City, a public
offlclal bond in such sum as may be
determined, from tlme to t1ffie by
resolution, by the City Coun~il,
provlded however, that such sum shall
not be less than One Hundred Thousand
Dollars nor more than Two Hundred
Fifty Thousand Dollars. The premium
on said bond shall be paid by the
City.
SECTION 2.
Section 26l2B of the Santa Monica
Munlclpal Code 15 hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 26l2B. FAITHFUL PERFORMANCE
BONDS. Each of the following specified
employees and such other employees
as deslgnated, from time to time by
resolutlon, by the City Councll shall
be covered by an official bond to the
Clty, as beneficlary, for the faithful
performance of his or her duties and
to account to the City for all monles
and other properties coming into hlS

SECTIO~ 3. Section 2612C of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2612C. HONESTY BONDS.
All employees of the City not other-
wise covered by bond shall be covered
by an honesty blanket posltion bond
with a miximum 11m~t of Two Hundred
Fifty Thousand Dollars. The City
Council may adjust the llmit of coverage
periodically as requlred, by resolut~on.
SECTION 4.
Any provisions of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code, or appendices thereto inconsistent herewlth,
to the extent of &uch inconsistencies and no further, are
hereby repealed or modi fled to that extent necessary to
effect the provlsions of thls ordinance.
SECTION 5. If any sect1on, subsectlon, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held
to be invalid or unconstitut~onal by a declsion of any court
of competent jurlsdlctlon, such decision shall not affect
the valldlty of the remalning portlons of the ordlnance.
