AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAt~TA MONICA A~ffiNDING
SECTION 9129F OF THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE, PERTAINING TO
RESTAURANT PARKING REQUIREMENTS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SEC7ION 1. Sectlon 9l29F(1) (B) lS hereby
amended and shall read as follows:
B. COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS
ReSldentlal Uses. The same
~equlrements as that for the Res1dentlal
Dlstrlcts shall apply.
CA, CP, C2, C3, C4. For buildings
or addlt~ons up to elght thousand
(8,000) square feet of adJusted
floor area: one (1) square foot of
park1ng area for each square foot
of adJusted floor area, or, one (1)
space for each three hundred (300)
square feet of adJusted floor area.
For bu~ld1ngs or addltlons in
excess of eight thousand (8,000)
square feet of adJusted floor area:

Bowllng Alleys: Four (4) spaces
per alley.

space per one hundred (100) square
feet of adJusted floor area.
Food Markets 1n excess of five
thousand square feet: One (I) space
per one hundred flfty (150) of adJusted
floor area.
Churches: One (1) space per ten
(10) flxed seats, or one (I) space per
eighty (80) square feet of floor area
1n places of assembly lS no flxed seats.
Theaters, Dance Halls, Conventlon
Centers, Meeting Halls and Places of
Assembly: One (1) space per four (4)
flxed seats of one (1) space peT elghty
(80) square feet of floor area 2n places

classroom.
SECTION 2. Any provlslons of the Santa Monlca
Mun~clpal Code, or appendlces thereto lnconSlstent herewlth,
to the extent of such lnconSlstencles and no further, are
hereby repealed or modlfled to that extent necessary to
effect the prOV1Slons of thlS ordlnance.
SECTION 3. If any section, subsectlon, sentence,
clause or phrase of thlS ordlnance 15 for any reason held to
be lnvalld or unconstltutlonal by a declslon of any court of
competent Jurlsdlctlon, such declSlon shall not affect the
valldlty of the remalnlng portlons of the ordlnancew The
Clty Councll hereby declares that It would have passed th1S

ordlnance and each and every sectlon, subsect1on, sentence,
clause or phrase not declared lnvalld or unconstltut1onal
wlthout regard to whether any portlon of the ordlnance would
be subsequently declared lnvalld or unconstltutional.
SECTION 4.
The Mayor shall sign and the Clty Clerk
shall attest to the passage of thlS ordlnance. The Clty Clerk
shall cause the same to be publlshed once In the offlclal
newspaper wlthln flfteen (15) days after 1ts adoptlon. The
ordlnance shall become effectlve after thlrty (30) days from
lts adopt1on.
