AN ORDINAN'CE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE 'cr'PY OF SANTA MONICA CREATING
A DEPARTMENT OF ENTERTAINMENT
FACILITIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section 2218 lS hereby added to the
Santa Monlca Municipal Code and shall read as follows:
Sectlon 2218. CREATION OF DEPARTMENT OF
ENTERTAINMENT FACILITIES. Pursuant to the
provlsions of Sectlon 702 of the Clty
Charter, there 15 hereby created a department
in Clty government to be known as the
Department of Entertalnment Facilltle5.
All references ln this code or ln prlor
ordlnances or re50lutlons of the Clty
CounCl1 to the Auditorium-pepartment or
Auditorium Director shall also constltute
references to and shall be construed to
refer to the Department of Entertalnment
FaCllities of Dlrector of Entertainment
FaCll1ties.
SECTION 2.
Section 2219 is hereby added to the

Sectlon 2219. FUNCTIONS OF DEPARTMENT.

The Department of Entertainment Facil1tles
shall be composed of the follow1ng div1sions:
(a) Audltor1Uffi dlVislon.
(b) P1er divlsion.
(c) Operatlons divislon.
Said department s~hall_coord.j,nate an.d
supervise the exercise of all the functions which hereto-
fore may have been or hereafter may be asslgned to sald
divisions, or the1r predecessor operatlons.
SECTION 3.
Section 2220 is hereby added to the
Santa Monica Munlcipal Code and shall read as follows:
Section 2220. DEPARTMENT HEAD. The
01rector of" Entertainment Facilities
who shall be the head-of-the Department
of Entertalnment Facilities shall be
appolnted by the City Manager 1n accordance
~th ~ection 702 of the City Charter.
SECTION 4.
Sectlon 2221 is hereby added to the
Santa Mon1ca Municipal Code and shall read as follows:
Section 2221. EXISTING DIVISIONS. All
personnel and property heretofore assigned
to any of the d1v1s10ns, units or sub-un1ts
of the Santa Monica Pler, and heretofore
placed in the Department of Recreation
