AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA HONICA
AMENDING SECTIONS 9l06Al AND
9l45A7 OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL
CODE PERTAINING TO AUTOMATIC LOT
SPLITS IN THE PALISADES TRACT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS~
SECTION 1. Sect10n 9l06Al of the Santa Mon~ca
Mun~cipal Code 15 hereby amended to read as follows:
1. I-family dwellings. Not more than one
I-family dwelling on any lot.
SECTION 2. Section 9l45A7 of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
7. In an "R-l" D~strict, permit any parcel
of property hav~ng at least 40 feet of frontage on a public
street, and an area of at least 6,000 square feet, to be
used as a separate buildlng slte, even though not a lot as
defined ln Sect10n 9102 of thlS Chapter.
SECTION 3. Any prov1slons of the Santa Monica
Municlpal Code, or appendices thereto inconslstent herewith,
to the extent of such lnconsistencles and no further, are
hereby repealed or modifled to that extent necessary to effect
the prOV1slons of thlS ordinance.
SECTION 4. If any sect1on, subsectlon, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordlnance is for any reason held to
be lnvalid or unconstiuttional by a decision of any court
of competent jurisdlctlon, such deC~Slon shall not affect

the valldlty of the remalnlng portlons of the ordinance.
The Clty Council hereby declares that lt would have passed
th15 ordinance and each and every seetlon, subsect~on,
sentence, clause or phrase not declared lnvalld or un con-
stltutlonal without regard to whether any portlon of the
ordlnance would be subsequently declared lnvalld or uncon-
st~tutional.
SECTION 5. The Mayor shall slgn and the Clty
Clerk shall attest to the passage of thlS ordlnance. The
City Clerk shall cause the same to be publlshed once In
the offlclal newspaper wlthin fifteen (15) days after lts
adoptlon. The ordlnance shall become effectlve after thlrty
(30) days from lts adoptlon.

SECTION 3.
The Clty Councll does hereby ratlfy
to the extent of lts power to do so by ordlnance each of ltS
acts and procedures in connection wlth the adoptlon of the
general plan and each of the elements thereof, respectlvely.
SECTION 4.
The Clty Counell of the City of Santa
Honica does hereby lncorporate and readopt each of the
respective elements set forth hereln of the general plan
heretofore separately adopted to constltute the general plan
of the Clty of Santa Monlca.
SECTION 5.
Any ord1nance or resolution or procedure
lnconslstent wlth the adoptlon, amendment or validity of the
general plan as heretofore adopted lS hereby repealed. It
lS the lntent of the City Councll that sald repeal operate
retroactlvely to the full extent permitted by law.
SECTION 6.
If any section, subsect1on, sentence,
clause or phrase of thlS ordlnance 15 for any reason held to
be lnvalld or unconstltutlonal by a deCls10n of any Court of
competent ]urlsdlction, such declSlon shall not affect the
valldlty of the remalnlng portlons of the ordlnance. The Clty
Councll hereby declares that lt would have passed thlS
ordlnance and each and every sectlon, subsectlon, sentence,
clause or phrase not declared lnval1d or unconstitutlonal
without regard to whether any port10n of the ord1nance would
be subsequently declared lnvalid or unconstltutlonal.
SECTION 7.
The Mayor shall slgn and the Clty Clerk
