RESOLUTION NO. 5ll9CCS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
COMMENDING MARTHA BROWN HICKS
WHEREAS, MARTHA BROWN HICKS, Director of Grants and
Community Services for the City of Santa Monica, has served our
community extremely well during her four and one-half years of
productive efforts characterized by innovative methods and a
dynamic spirit, bringing great benefit to numerous deserving
community groups, and
WHEREAS, during her service on behalf of the citizens
of Santa Monica, she has encouraged community service organiza-
tions to be more self-sustaining by training their personnel in
fund-raising techniques, which will result in extended benefits
for the elderly and others with special needs, and
WHEREAS, MRS. HICKS has now chosen to leave City service
and enter a new and challenging field of human service elsewhere;
NOW, THEREFORE, The Members of the Santa Monica City Council do
resolve that MARTHA BROWN HICKS be commended for her exceptional
service to the City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Santa Monica City Council express
deep appreciation to Martha for her dedication and wholehearted
devotion to the increased well-being of many of Santa Monica's
deserving citizens.
