A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COm~CIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
CLOSING ~ffiIN STREET BETWEEN PIER
AVENUE AND OCEAN PARK BOULEVARD
BETWEEN 6:00 A.M. AND 9:00 P.M.
ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 21, 1977.
WHEREAS, it is proposed that sales and exhibitions
be conducted out of doors in the area of Main Street between
Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on Sunday, August 22,
1977~ and
WHEREAS, such sales and exhibitions are in the
public interest, and for the benefit of the City of Santa
Monica~ and,
WHEREAS, the closing of Main Street to vehicular
traffic between Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons participating
in and attending said exhibitions and sales.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the closing of Main Street
between Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on August 22,
1977, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock
p.m. is necessary for the safety and protection of persons
participating in and attending the sales and exhibitions to
be held thereat.
SECTION 2.
That Main Street, in the City of
Santa Monica, shall be barricaded and closed to vehicular
traffic between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock
p.m. on August 21, 1977.
