R-486 RESOLUTION NUMBER 486 (RAS) (Redevelopment Agency Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF VICENTE TERRACE WHEREAS the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica (the "Agency") adopted the Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment Plan on June 21, 1994, which significantly meets one of the goals of the FivEl-Year Implementation Plan adopted in November of 1999, by purchasing of the RAND property, thereby improving the Civic Center area; and WHEREAS, on October 26, 1999 the Agency approved the Owner Participation Agreement (RAS #7639) by and between the RAND Corporation and the Redevelopment Agency for the purchase of land with the intent of implementing the Civic Center Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica (the "City") on October 25, 2000, approved the Development Agreement with the RAND Corporation (CCS #1989) which granted RAND certain entitlement rights to develop its headquarters office building and make certain street improvements to implement the Civic Center Specific Plan, including the development of the Vicente Terrace right-of-way; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept an easement of the Agency's land for the purpose of developing a new public street, Vicente Terrace, in accordance with the Civic Center Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33421 allows the Agency to cause, provide or undertake or make provision with other agencies for the installation, or construction of streets, utilities, parks, playgrounds and other public improvements necessary for carrying out in the project area the redevelopment plan. NOW THEREFORE, THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Redevelopment Agency hereby grants a.n easement for street purposes described in the attached legal description (Attachment B) to the City of Santa Monica for the development of the Vicente Terrace public right of way. The legal description may be revised prior to the recording of the easement, pursuant to approval of final street construction plans. Section 2. The Redevelopment Agency authorizes the Executive Director, or her designee, to execute all necessary documents for this transaction. Section 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 2 ATTACHMENT B LEGAL DESCRIPTION AND PLAT A PARCEl.
