R-9898 f:\atty\muni\laws\mjm\objectplacmntreso-1, wpd City Council Meeting 10-14-03 Santa Monica, California RESOLUTION NUMBER 9898 (CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SPECIFYING THE LOCATION AVAILABLE FOR WINTER UNATTENDED INSTALLATIONS OR DISPLAYS IN PALISADES PARK WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance Number2095 (CCS) regarding the placement of unattended displays in a limited portion of Palisades Park adjacent to Ocean Avenue during the month of December; and WHEREAS, space available for unattended displays in the park must be limited to ensure that the park remains available to residents and guests for its primary, recreational purposes; and WHEREAS, the location for displays must be specified in order to balance this activity with park users' needs; and WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 2095 (CCS) specifies that the exact area available for the installation of displays must be specified by resolution, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1, Pursuant to Ordinance Number 2095 (CCS), the City Council hereby authorizes the installation of unattended displays in Palisades Park during the month of 1 December in the following areas: (1) Palisades Park between Santa Monica Boulevard and Arizona Avenue on the grassy area adjacent to Ocean Avenue (between the sidewalk and the decomposed granite pathway); and (2) Palisades Park between Arizona Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard on the grassy area adjacent to Ocean Avenue (two feet from the curb and up to, but not on, the decomposed granite pathway), SECTION 2.
