A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA WITHDRAWING FROM PARTICIPATION AND CEASING
TO BE SUBJECT TO THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 22853 provides that a contracting
agency which has elected to be subject to the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital
Care Act many cease to be so subject by proper application by the contracting agency;
and
WHEREAS, the City Of Santa Monica, hereinafter referred to as Public
Agency is a contracting agency under the Act for participation by members of the Local
Miscellaneous Category,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1, The City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the
Local Miscellaneous Members of the Public Agency to elect, and they do hereby elect,
to cease to be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital
Care Act ("Act").
Section 2, Coverage of the Act shall cease on December 31,2003,
Section 3, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution:
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
