A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA SETTING FEES FOR LANDING AT SANTA MONICA
AIRPORT
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of Santa Monica to charge
for the full costs of services provided by City Staff when such services benefit
individual users rather than members of the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1754 (CCS) (the Ordinance), adopted
July 12, 1994, provides guidance on the setting of the amount of user fees or
fees for services provided to or for the benefit of particular individuals rather
than the general public; and
WHEREAS, the Ordinance allows such fees for services to be set by
ordinance, by a resolution adopted by the City Council, or by any other means
authorized by law; and
WHEREAS, Section 10.04.06.100 of the Municipal Code provides that
the City Council shall establish and may amend from time to time landing fees for
Santa Monica Airport; and
WHEREAS, a detailed study was done on the damage done to the runway
and taxiways by heavier aircraft use, and that study shows that the wear, stress,
and damage to the airside surfaces are directly related to the weight of the
aircraft using the Airport; and

weight of aircraft actually using the Airport; and
WHEREAS, consistent with City policy, landing fees should be set in
amounts reflecting the cost of runway and taxiway use; and
WHEREAS, the attached fees reflect that cost,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts the attached Landing Fee
Schedule (Attachment A) for all aircraft land ing at Santa Monica Airport, effective
August 1, 2003.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution,
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
