A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE
NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD AND AUTHORIZING A
LIEN AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF NUISANCE
ABATEMENT COSTS UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, the Nuisance Abatement Board adopted a Resolution on February 21,
2002 declaring conditions at 2602 Arizona Avenue/1315 26th Street, Santa Monica,
California ("subject property") to be a public nuisance and authorizing city personnel to
abate these conditions at the property;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authorization of the Nuisance Abatement Board, the
City has abated the nuisance conditions at the subject property and incurred costs in
undertaking this abatement;
WHEREAS, the Nuisance Abatement Board caused to be served upon the owners
of the subject property, a Notice of Cost of Abatement setting forth the cost of the
abatement and the date, time, and place of hearing on this Resolution
WHEREAS, the Nuisance Abatement Board, concurrently with the submittal of this
resolution, has submitted the report regarding the abatement of the public nuisance on the
subject property; and

WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Santa Monica has held a public hearing
regarding the costs for the abatement of the public nuisance on the subject property,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
RESOLVES AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1 The report of the Nuisance Abatement Board regarding the public
nuisance at 2602 Arizona/1315 26th Street, Santa Monica, California is confirmed and that
the reasonable cost of abatement of the nuisance at the subject property is $2,985.00.
SECTION 2. If payment of the nuisance abatement costs is not made within ten
(10) days of this confirmation of the Nuisance Abatement Board's report and adoption of
this Resolution, the City of Santa Monica is entitled to and hereby attaches a special
assessment lien upon the described property upon recordation in the Office of the County
Recorder of the County of Los Angeles,
SECTION 3. Such lien shall constitute a special assessment against the property
and shall be collectible at the same time and in the same manner as secured property
taxes are collected and shall be subject to the same penalties, priorities, and procedures
in the case of delinquency.
SECTION 4, The City Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the
Los Angeles County Auditor/Controller to place a special assessment against the subject
property,

SECTION 5 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
